The Analytics Energy system implemented by Inergia Lämpö Oy brings together district heating production data from several locations, and compiles this information into a clear and easy-to-use dashboard view. Thanks to this new system, the real-time situation of the entire company's district heating production can be viewed through a single service, either from a browser or mobile application, regardless of location. From the main dashboard view, which brings together the most important information from different locations, it is possible to drill down to more detailed information about each individual location.

In the system, which combines location-specific data, production emission calculations are also taken into account. The system automatically generates emission reports approved for official use, and produces a summary report on the fuel consumption of various forms of heat production.

Moving towards greener production with Supersense predictions

In addition to monitoring production, site-specific predictions of the demand for district heating that are produced using machine learning are also brought into the dashboard view. The predictions are produced using the weather forecasts for the coming days for each location, as well as previous measurement data from district heating production. The recommendations that are created based on these predictions can be directly utilised in the control room, where the Inergia Lämpö Oy personnel can make data-based decisions about production, and thus making heat production more eco-friendly. These predictions and more informed decisions enable significant reduction potential, for example in terms of CO2 emissions.

Smooth cooperation with automation suppliers

The successful implementation of the new and improved reporting system by Inergia Lämpö Oy was made possible by the smooth co-operation with Enelec Oy, who was responsible for implementing the changes required by the district heating production automation system. The jointly agreed implementation stages and technical specifications of the work enabled smooth delivery of the service within the agreed timeframe.
